Platform Engineer
We are Happy Socks, an innovative fashion company that specializes in designing and producing unique, high-quality fashion items. We sell directly to consumers through our online and physical channels, as well as wholesale to a range of partners. Our tech team is at the core of our digital innovation and development, driving initiatives that enhance the customer experience, optimize internal processes, and improve the efficiency of our supply chain. We value creativity, collaboration, and a forward-thinking approach to problem-solving.
Role Overview:
As a Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our applications and services. You will collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to create scalable, reliable, and secure systems that power our platform. Your work will ensure our tech stack is efficient, resilient, and optimized for our business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop: Build and maintain platform infrastructure to support scalability, reliability, and performance across our applications.
- Automation: Develop tools and scripts to automate deployment, monitoring, and other operational tasks.
- Monitoring and Performance: Set up comprehensive monitoring systems and ensure optimal performance of platform components.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software developers and other engineers to align infrastructure with application requirements.
- Security: Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure components, as well as in our development life cycle (SDLC).
- Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotation and assist in troubleshooting and resolving incidents to minimize downtime.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive opportunities to improve platform architecture and processes.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Business Continuity Planning (BCP): Collaborate with stakeholders to create and update business continuity plans.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Business Central.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Exposure to distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Previous experience working in a fashion or retail tech environment.
But most importantly, you have the personality to fit a
somewhat crazy, fun work environment where we believe in color and
playfulness, a place where you can expect the unexpected and you are a
source of creative weirdness.
