We’re looking for a Head of Social to lead our global social media strategy and take our brand to new heights. As the mastermind behind our social empire, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging content, building a loyal community, and driving brand awareness.
Overall Responsibilities:
As Head of Social, you will lead our brand’s social presence across all platforms, defining and executing an innovative, insight-driven, and human-centered social strategy. With organic social as the cornerstone of our marketing strategy, you’ll work closely with the creative, marketing, and content teams to ensure we’re always ahead of trends, pushing boundaries, and, most importantly, spreading happiness.
You’ll need to be both a strategic leader and a creative visionary. You should be hands-on when it comes to harnessing insights, social tools, and platform updates to drive growth, build a strong community, and elevate our brand visuals across all social channels.
Responsibilities:
Social Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a cutting-edge social media strategy that aligns with the brand’s mission to “spread happiness to every corner of the world.”
- Lead and manage the brand’s social presence across all platforms (current key channels - Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest,Facebook, etc.), ensuring a cohesive brand voice and message.
- Drive the evolution of our social media approach, leveraging trends, technology, and platforms to keep the brand relevant, engaging, and ahead of the curve.
- Utilise social media to drive growth in key markets - building on our ‘glocal’ approach to content creation.
- Develop and execute strategies for audience growth and platform development, understanding the nuances of building a strong social following across different platforms.
- Lead a growing team of social media obsessed copy and content creators, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and experimentation.
- Collaborate with the wider marketing, PR, and product teams to ensure social aligns with broader brand goals and launches, as well as amplifying key business initiatives.
- Act as the brand’s social ambassador, championing the role of social in every aspect of the business and educating internal teams on best practices / social updates.
Insights, Data & Performance:
- Analyze and interpret social media performance metrics, creating detailed reports and sharing actionable insights with the broader team and senior management.
- Stay on top of social media trends, audience behavior shifts, and algorithm updates to ensure the brand remains agile and adaptable.
- Create a data-first mindset within the team, using audience insights to brief content that resonates with the Happy Socks audience.
- Continuously explore and test new social platforms and tools that can expand the brand’s reach and effectiveness in spreading happiness.
- Assess current tools, leading the conversation on which tools are best suited to the Happy Socks’ social team needs.
- Ensure we are leveraging the best tools and tech advancements for innovative content creation.
Creative Vision & Content Innovation:
- Work with the Head of Creative to brief, develop and execute always-on social content that aligns to our brand history while delivering on our ‘social first’ approach.
- Collaborate closely with the creative and comms teams to develop visually compelling and highly shareable social-first campaigns.
- Lead brainstorming sessions and creative workshops, ensuring social ideas are innovative, relevant, and true to the brand’s personality.
- Push the boundaries of social content by exploring new formats, technologies and content types, with a focus on engagement and shareability.
You will be:
An excellent communicator - comfortable working with different teams and roles of various levels across the business.
Coming in with extensive social media experience with a track record of previous accomplishments in a high growth brand.
Highly organised and proactive - able to keep plans on track and recognise when it is appropriate to react to new opportunities..
Data driven - comfortable working with data and insights to inform your decision making and as a starting point for discussion with stakeholders.
Customer-centric in your approach - keeping the customer front-of-mind when it comes to building and maintaining the marketing calendar.
Able to work at pace with strong execution - able to plan, manage and adapt multiple projects at the same time.
