We are now looking for a new Retail Area Manager for our Happy Socks stores in Los, Angeles, California! You will be directly responsible for the concept stores and its staff.

As Area Manager you’ll lead three other Store Managers in California and make sure campaigns, guidelines, events, stock levels and store operations are executed according to plan.  

To succeed in this role, we want you to have at least three years working experience within retail, and preferably as a store manager/area manager. We believe you have a strong commercial profile, and that you are ambitious and hard working. 

You’ll report to our Global Retail Operations Manager, based in our Stockholm HQ.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personnel responsibility for 3 other Store Managers in Los Angeles, CA
  • Fully responsible for P&L for designated concept stores. Ensuring to maximize profitability on all units.
  • Responsibility for the overall conceptual execution in store, including but not limited to uniforms, branding and that the Happy Socks values are being transmitted through the staff
  • Secure stock levels and replenishment in all stores
  • Staffing, recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees
  • Coach, motivate and lead your staff in their work and planning schedule
  • Reaching our set targets for the Los Angeles Stores
  • Follow up, analyze and report on sales numbers, targets and KPI´s
  • Visual merchandising and campaign execution. Follow in close cooperation with Visual Merchandise Manager
  • Execution and planning of in-store events
  • Planning and execution of sales-driven staff activities
  • Work closely with and report daily, weekly and monthly to Global Retail Operations Manager 
  • Fully responsible for P&L for designated concept stores. Ensuring to maximize profitability on all units
  • Secure service levels in stores and make sure they live up to Happy Socks standards
  • Engage local community and create local sales driven events and campaign
  • Ensuring a secure cash handling routine is maintained
  • Support full sample sale production

Requirements & Skills:

  • Structured, analytical and detail-focused
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of English, other languages a plus
  • Positive mindset and solution-oriented
  • Passion for our products, sales and customer experience
  • Share the cultural philosophy/image of Happy Socks
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work schedule needed
  • Passion and desire for excellence by exceeding goals successfully and consistently
  •  Proven ability to develop and retain top talent
  •  Proven ability to better business results year over year
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills and ability to engage and motivate teams
  • Strong business acumen; including retail math and P&L responsibility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have an ability to plan and manage both the strategic and operational functions of the business

Practical details:

  • Full time position
  • Based in Silver Lake office with regular visits to stores
  • Travel between stores in Los Angeles area

Qualifications:

  • College degree in related field preferred
  • 5+ years of multi-store leadership experience in retail environment
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point
