We are now looking for a Marketing Manager based in our Munich office to be responsible for all marketing activities for our DACH wholesale market (Germany, Austria & Switzerland). You’ll work closely with the DACH commercial team and the Global Marketing Team to develop the local marketing plan and strategy, and activation global marketing activities. Initially, it’s a parental leave cover for one year, but since we are growing there is a possibility of the role becoming permanent after the initial contract period. 

The Munich office opened around 3 years ago and we are now a group of 15 happy and driven people. In total, we are 180 colorful characters from over 25 different countries at Happy Socks and you will have a close collaboration with the marketing, sales and product departments at our HQ and US office.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop the DACH marketing strategy, plan and budget as well as execute and optimize the actual marketing plan, aligned with the global marketing strategy
  • Understand market trends and what’s “cool” and be the Voice of the Market, ensuring needs, trends, and limitations are taken into consideration
  • Proactively engage with the Sales teams to coordinate, communicate, and optimize the impact of marketing activities; including upcoming initiatives both local and global
  • Provide both sell-in and sell-out materials/campaigns tailored to the needs of our sales team
  • Lead the briefing process to our internal agency for needs in instore and online communication/campaigns
  • Implement in-store installations and online activations with Sales team and customers
  • Plan, support and execute local trade shows and marketing events
  • Organize promotional activities to drive brand awareness and preference in DACH
  • Evaluate, select, and manage local collaborations
  • Develop scalable marketing solutions that can be used by our other markets

Requirements & Skills

  • 3+ years experience in a Marketing Manager role (preferably as a regional marketing manager working close with HQ)
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing or equivalent 
  • Fluency in English & German, both written and spoken
  • Understanding of how to drive brand relevance in the digital space
  • Driving license, class B (and a willingness to travel)

You are an energetic self-starter that manages your own work in a structured way. You like to be in a fast-paced environment where you’ll do everything from high to low and with many projects going on at the same time. You also like having many different touching points within and outside the organisation and you have great communication and relationship-building skills.

Most importantly, you have the personality to fit a somewhat crazy, fun work environment where we believe in color and playfulness, a place where you can expect the unexpected and you are a source of creative weirdness.
