We are now looking for an experienced and passionate Retail Operations Lead. Come be a key member of the Retail team and join a happy and extremely driven multicultural company of around 180 people from 25 different countries, at our HQ in Stockholm, Sweden 

You'll work closely with all Happy Socks’ owned retail stores (located in Stockholm, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles and Melbourne) to drive innovation, operational excellence, and growth. You’ll also support our externally operated retail stores. In total, we have around 135 stores globally! 🚀🌍

The role & the responsibilities

As part of the job you'll establish and follow up on a yearly growth plan per market to deliver strong top and bottom-line results. You’ll collaborate with our Area- and Store Managers to successfully manage store openings, events, local store activations and ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly. 

  • Analyze and follow-up on store performances, aiming to increase; efficiency, stock optimization, and strong top and bottom-line results 
  • Manage and motivate a team of Area and Store Managers in Europe and Australia (5 direct reports)
  • Work closely with HQ Retail Buyer, Visual Merchandiser, and Marketing department to ensure operational excellence, proper forecasting, and the implementation of the commercial and promotional calendar
  • Create and execute retail initiatives, in-store activities & local events, a.o; store openings, pop-up´s, sample sales, and holiday festivities 
  • Follow up on global budgets and deadlines (drive and own projects)
  • Work closely with the Head of Retail to ensure the retail business plan is well executed
  • Be the spider in the web - working cross-departmentally to ensure project deadlines are met and results are achieved
  • Develop data analytic solutions to support ´complex´ global management decisions

Your profile & experience

Maybe you're looking for the next step in your retail career? We want you to have a few years of experience in a senior position within retail operations (around 3 years, we're thinking), and to keep momentum, we also want you to be really sharp with project management; and always well organized. 

As you will have a few direct reports, we want you to have experience from leading a team (if you've led a remote team that's definitely a plus) but if you have no formal leadership experience please let us know what other qualities you have that would make you succeed in this area. 

This is a role with lots of contact points and to unify our retail organisation spread out in different countries, we want you to be a fun-loving self-starter who love to roll up your sleeves and contribute to the entrepreneurial spirit within an established, yet fast-paced, global company. 

Other requirements:

  • A university degree in business administration or similar 
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (other languages are a plus!)
  • Strong analytical skills (backed up with strong MS Office skills)
  • Willingness to travel

Solving problems yourself is not a problem because you’re driven, result-oriented and analytical (but remember that you have a full team to collaborate with!). 

Most importantly, you have the personality to fit a somewhat crazy, fun work environment where we believe in color and playfulness, a place where you can expect the unexpected and you are a source of creative weirdness.
